More tuning packages are becoming available for many of BMW’s SUV lines. H. Hartge GmbH & Co KG has released just that. A new package for the BMW X6 M is now offered for increased horse power, torque, and made out of reliable quality parts. Hartge Co not only upgraded their X6, but has made similar packages available for the entire BMW X1 line. Coming off the assembly line, you would find either a 1.8 or 2.0 litre engine and about 143Hp. For all those that feel it isn’t quite enough, Hartge offers a performance exhaust package, upgraded 2-part aluminum pedal set along with aluminum footrest, custom 3-spoke steering wheel with emblem, and a special Hartge emblem for those tuning fanatics that like their upgrades known. Hartge kits may also include a stainless-steel rear silencer with a round tailpipe, and even a set of springs for those that desire a 30mm drop.To accompany the low profile, a new set of 20” wheels along with various other emblems for the tailgate and bonnet are available. So what does all your money go towards? After properly fitted, the X1 line can be credited with a 36Hp increase in the xDrive18d topping off at 179Hp with 350 Nm torque allowing the BMW X1 to reach speeds around 134mph and zip from 0-60 in 8.1 seconds, a good 1.5 seconds faster than stock. Those fitted with the xDrive 20d upgrades can enjoy a 32hp increase resulting in a 7.2 second 0-60 a savings of about 1.2 seconds. Hartge has also given the option to further increase torque by adding to their inline 4 containing a common-rail injection system and upgrading it with a turbocharger increasing torque from 350Nm to 415Nm at 2000rpms. These are just some of the options available for the BMW, and its up to the tuning specialists to decide what satisfies their desires, as it has almost limitless options for customizations.
